Wouldn’t it be nice if we lived in a world where…..storytelling was so much more common?

But the sad reality is…. that people tend to resort to facts and figures

Because…. it is very tempting to believe that we are rational beings, despite the evidence that emotion overpowers logic at every opportunity.

However, the good news is…

We can… all develop our storytelling skills

What we’ve found is… if we use a structure and some inspiration from the world’s best stories there is a recipe that we can all use.

So here’s the call to action… are you prepared to use this structure and including the problem you solve, the solution you provide and the results to start integrating storytelling into your narrative to create much more compelling communication? With the emphasis on the problem and the results rather than falling into the temptation of spending too much time on your solution?

These are some of the pearls of wisdom shared by professional speaker Andrew Thorp at our recent SUBS Wilmslow online event which included over 30 participants and complemented by some general networking and two partner spotlights. Chris McCarthy brought us up to date with an initiative he is leading to help people going through COVID-19 furlough, and Gary Crosbie shared a story about how he appeared alongside Donald Trump on the BBC News website.

We are adapting to the virtual world and getting great feedback – join us next time, the first Friday of every month. Find details of our forthcoming dates here.
